JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and a seamless "Plug-and-Play" installation into your USDM TSX, professional installers recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

  1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifold. JDM versions may lack specific vacuum ports or the drive-by-wire throttle body configuration required for your TSX.

  2. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft, Crankshaft, and Knock Sensors. The JDM sensors may have different plug orientations that will not click into your USDM harness.

  3. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not reach the ECU located behind the dash.

  4. Crankshaft Pulley: Inspect the JDM pulley; if the belt ribs or diameter differ from your original, swap your USDM Pulley to ensure your power steering and AC work perfectly.

  5. Water Housing: Swap your original USDM Water Outlet and Thermostat Housing to ensure all heater hoses and coolant sensors align with your radiator setup.

  6. VTEC Solenoid: While the JDM unit is high-performance, it is best practice to swap your USDM VTEC Oil Pressure Switch to the JDM solenoid to prevent any ECU communication errors.
