This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:

• Nissan 350Z: 2007, 2008

• Infiniti G35 Sedan: 2007, 2008 (V36 Chassis)

• Infiniti G35 Coupe: (Note: Most 2007 Coupes used the DE; verify dual intakes before purchase)

• Infiniti EX35 / FX35: (Select early models with HR engine)

• Compatibility Note: This is the Dual Intake HR model. It is not a direct "plug-and-play" swap for 2003–2006 350Z models equipped with the VQ35DE single-intake engine without extensive wiring and ECU modification.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your 350Z’s sophisticated performance tuning, professional technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Oil Gallery Gaskets: While the engine is out, we strongly recommend inspecting or replacing the internal oil gallery gaskets with updated "metal-backed" versions. This is a known preventative maintenance item for the VQ35HR platform to ensure consistent oil pressure.

2. Wiring Harness: You must retain and use your original USDM Nissan Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your chassis bulkheads or LHD battery location.

3. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: While the dual-intake plenums are usually identical, we recommend transferring your original USDM Exhaust Manifolds to ensure all oxygen sensor (AFR) bungs align perfectly with your North American catalytic converters.

4. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors to the JDM block. Nissan sensors are highly sensitive; using your original "known-good" sensors prevent intermittent signal issues.

5. Pilot Bushing/Bearing: Ensure you install a new pilot bushing (Manual) or pilot converter (Automatic) that matches your specific transmission type before mating the engine.

6. AWD vs. RWD Note: If your HR engine is being used in an Infiniti G35x (AWD), you must transfer your original USDM AWD Oil Pan to clear the front differential.
