Vehicle Fitment

This transmission is a direct replacement for the following North American ZZW30 / ZZT230 Generation models:

• Toyota Celica GT: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005

• Chassis Cross-Compatibility: Also fits 2000–2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder (5-speed models) and 2000–2008 Corolla/Matrix 1ZZ-FE models.

• Compatibility Note: This is not for the Celica GTS trim (which uses the C60 6-speed) or the high-revving 2ZZ-GE engine.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

The C59 5-speed is a mechanical, "plug-and-play" unit. However, to ensure a perfect fit into your USDM Celica GT, follow these professional installation steps:

1. Speedometer Sensor: Inspect the speedometer sensor on the JDM unit. If the electrical plug differs from your USDM harness, simply unscrew and swap your original USDM Speed Sensor into the JDM case.

2. Shifter Cable Brackets: We recommend transferring your original USDM Shifter Cable Brackets from your old transmission to the JDM unit. This ensures the cables align perfectly with the Celica's specific shifter geometry.

3. Reverse Light Switch: Swap your original USDM Reverse Light Switch to the JDM transmission to ensure your reverse lights function correctly with your factory wiring.

4. Clutch & Throw-out Bearing: While the transmission is removed, it is the ideal time to install a new Clutch Kit. It is much more cost-effective to replace these wear items now than to perform a second labor-intensive removal later.

5. Axle Seals: For maximum longevity and to prevent leaks, install new OEM CV Axle Seals before installing the transmission.
