JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Accord’s emissions and drivability, professional Honda technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifold. JDM versions often differ in vacuum port layouts and lack specific emissions bungs required for North American OBDII compliance.

2. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your Accord’s chassis bulkheads or PCM.

3. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Honda electronics are highly sensitive; using your original "known-good" sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or Check Engine Light codes.

4. Water Housing: Swap your original USDM Water Outlet and Thermostat Housing to ensure all radiator and heater hoses align perfectly with your North American cooling system.

5. VTEC Solenoid: We recommend transferring your original USDM VTEC Solenoid and Oil Pressure Switch to ensure the electrical connectors match your factory harness exactly.
