JDM to USDM Installation & Technical Guide

To ensure 100% OBDII compliance and smooth gear engagement, professional technicians recommend these critical steps:

• Internal Harness & Solenoid Swap: You must transfer your original USDM internal wire harness and solenoids to the JDM unit. JDM electrical connectors frequently differ; using your original USDM electronics ensures the ECU receives the correct data and prevents "Check Engine" lights or limp mode.

• Transfer Case: While this unit includes the JDM transfer case, FJ Cruiser owners often have specific transfer case configurations (Part-time vs. Full-time). We recommend bolting your original USDM Transfer Case onto the JDM transmission to ensure your 4WD shifter and sensors function exactly as they did from the factory.

• Speed Sensors: Reuse your original USDM Input and Output Speed Sensors. This ensures your speedometer, cruise control, and A-TRAC systems remain 100% accurate.

• Fluid Service: This is a "Sealed" transmission. Use ONLY Toyota ATF WS (World Standard). Ensure the fluid is leveled using the overflow plug procedure at the specific temperature range (97°F–115°F) for optimal shifting.
