This transmission is a direct mechanical replacement for the following North American models:

  • Nissan Versa (S, SL, Hatchback, Sedan): 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

  • Chassis Compatibility: C11 Generation (1.8L Models Only).

  • Compatibility Note: This is the CVT variant for the 1.8L MR18DE. It is not compatible with the 1.6L HR16DE engine (which typically uses the RE0F11A/JF015E) or the 4-speed traditional automatic transmission models.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and a "plug-and-play" experience with your Versa’s ECU, professional technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

  1. Transmission Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Input and Output Speed Sensors to the JDM unit. This ensures the electrical connectors match your factory wiring harness and prevents "limp mode" codes.

  2. External Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Transmission Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses may have variations in pin configurations or lengths based on right-hand drive layouts.

  3. Transmission Cooler: Inspect the JDM cooler lines. If the orientation or bracket offsets differ, swap your original USDM Transmission Fluid Cooler and lines to the JDM unit.

  4. Fluid Requirement: You must use Nissan Genuine NS-2 CVT Fluid. Using generic ATF or the newer NS-3 fluid in an NS-2 designated system can cause internal belt slippage and premature failure.
