To ensure a "Plug and Play" experience and prevent any OBD-II codes (Check Engine Light), follow these swap requirements when installing a JDM engine into a USDM Camry:

  • Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must reuse your original USDM intake and exhaust manifolds. JDM versions often lack the specific vacuum ports or EGR/Smog configurations required for US emissions.

  • Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft Sensors, Crankshaft Sensor, and Knock Sensors to the JDM block.

  • Wiring Harness & ECU: Always use your vehicle’s original USDM wiring harness and Engine Control Unit (ECU).
