This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American R51 Generation models:

• Nissan Pathfinder: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

• Trims: S, SE, LE, Off-Road, SV

• Chassis Cross-Compatibility: Also serves as a high-quality donor for 2005–2015 Nissan Frontier and 2005–2019 Nissan Xterra (4.0L models).

• Compatibility Note: This engine is for 4.0L V6 models only. Not compatible with the 5.6L V8 (VK56DE) or 2.5L Diesel variants.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and a seamless "Plug-and-Play" installation into your USDM Pathfinder, professional installers recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifolds. JDM versions may lack specific EGR ports or vacuum line configurations required for US emissions compliance.

2. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft Sensors, Crankshaft Sensor, and Knock Sensor to the JDM block to ensure the ECU receives signals it recognizes.

3. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your North American chassis.

4. Oil Pan & Pickup: Inspect the JDM oil pan; if your Pathfinder is 4WD, you must swap your original USDM Oil Pan and Pickup Tube to ensure proper clearance with the front differential and subframe.

5. Flywheel/Flexplate: Transfer your original flexplate (Automatic) or flywheel (Manual) to the JDM crankshaft to ensure proper starter engagement and crank sensor alignment.

6. Coolant Outlet: Swap your USDM rear coolant crossover pipe and heater hose outlets if the JDM angles differ.
