  • Subaru Legacy (non-turbo): 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

  • Trims: 2.5i, 2.5i Special Edition, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Premium

  • Compatibility Note: This engine is for SOHC AVCS models. Please verify your original engine has the AVCS solenoids on the cylinder heads. Not compatible with 2.5GT (Turbo) or 3.0R/3.6R (H6) models.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and a "Plug-and-Play" installation into your USDM Legacy, professional installers must follow these "External Swap" steps:

  1. Intake, Exhaust Manifold & Sensors: You must swap your original USDM Intake, Exhaust Manifold, PCV Valve and all sensors (MAP, TPS, etc.) onto the JDM block. JDM wiring plugs often differ from US-spec harnesses.

  2. AVCS Solenoids: Ensure the JDM AVCS solenoids match your USDM plugs; if they differ, transfer your original USDM solenoids to the JDM heads.

  3. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your vehicle's original USDM Engine Wiring Harness.

  4. Water Crossover Pipe: Inspect the coolant pipe and thermostat housing; if the angles differ, swap your USDM components to ensure your radiator hoses fit correctly.
