The K24W CVT is a highly technical unit. To ensure a successful "Plug-and-Play" installation into your USDM Accord, professional installers recommend the following steps:
Transmission Sensors & Solenoids: Inspect the electrical connectors on the JDM unit. If the plug pins or housing shapes differ from your USDM harness, swap your original USDM External Sensors and Solenoids (Input & Output Speed Sensors) onto the JDM case.
Range Switch: Transfer your original USDM Neutral Safety Switch (Range Switch) to the JDM unit to ensure the ECU correctly recognizes Park, Neutral, and Drive positions.
CVT Cooler: We highly recommend flushing your vehicle's Transmission Cooler Lines and radiator before installation. If your previous transmission failed due to overheating or debris, old metal shavings can destroy the new JDM unit instantly.
Fluid Requirements: This transmission REQUIRES Honda HCF-2 CVT Fluid. Use of any other fluid (including older Honda CVT or ATF-DW1) will cause immediate belt slippage and permanent internal damage.
