Vehicle Fitment

This transmission serves as a direct replacement for the following North American models:

• Honda Civic Sedan (DX, LX, EX): 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

• Honda Civic Coupe (DX, LX, EX): 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

• Compatibility Note: Specifically for the 1.8L R18A. It will not fit the 2.0L Civic Si (K20Z3) or the Civic Hybrid models, as the bellhousing and gear ratios are entirely different.

JDM to USDM Installation & Technical Guide

To ensure a perfect install and long-term reliability, professional Honda technicians recommend these steps:

• Shifter & Linkage: This JDM unit is a direct bolt-in for your existing linkage. However, we recommend inspecting your shifter cable bushings during the swap. Replacing worn bushings with solid or high-quality rubber units will maximize the "crisp" feel of your JDM transmission.

• Clutch & Flywheel: Since the transmission is removed, always install a new clutch disc, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing. Don't forget to replace the pilot bearing if applicable and resurface or replace your flywheel to prevent clutch chatter.

• VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor): Transfer your original USDM Speed Sensor and Reverse Light Switch to the JDM unit. This ensures your speedometer remains 100% accurate and your reverse lights function without wiring modifications.

• Fluid Requirements: Use ONLY Honda Genuine Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF). Honda transmissions are notoriously picky; using standard 75W-90 gear oil will lead to stiff shifting and accelerated synchronizer wear.
