• CRITICAL RWD COMPATIBILITY NOTE: This engine is specifically pulled from a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) vehicle platform. While the core block shares the KA24DE architecture with the rear-wheel-drive Nissan 240SX (S13/S14) and Nissan Frontier, the engine block casting, engine mounts, intake manifold layout, and accessory bolt holes are entirely different. This unit will NOT drop into a Nissan 240SX or truck without extensive, advanced modifications. It is sold primarily as an Altima replacement.

Long Block Installation Notes

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION WARNING: This assembly is provided strictly as a Long Block (assembled cylinder head, engine block, oil pan, and internal moving components). To avoid check engine codes or immediate performance issues, ensure your mechanic follows these guidelines:

1. Transfer USDM External Accessories: You MUST swap over your vehicle's original intake manifold plenum, fuel rail, injectors, exhaust manifold, alternator, power steering pumps, and A/C compressor brackets.

2. Reuse Your Original Wiring & Sensors: JDM wiring harnesses are cut or configured for right-hand drive architectures. Discard the JDM harness and utilize your original USDM engine wiring loom. Additionally, transfer your original distributor, Crankshaft Position Sensor, and water temperature sensors to ensure plug-and-play compatibility with your factory ECU.

3. Inspect/Replace the Water Pump: Take advantage of the engine block being on an engine stand and install a brand-new water pump, a fresh thermostat, and a high-quality oil filter.

4. Address Front and Rear Seals: While the motor is accessible, replace the front crankshaft seal and rear main seal to protect your garage floor from future leaks.

5. Fluid & Timing Protocols: Refill the system with a premium 5W-30 or 10W-30 motor oil and a fresh filter. The KA24DE utilizes a highly durable timing chain; ensure the tensioners are visually inspected for appropriate tension prior to completing the drop-in process.
