Vehicle Fitment

This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American 3rd Generation models:

• Toyota Prius (Liftback): 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

• Lexus CT200h: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

• Compatibility Note: This is the Atkinson Cycle hybrid engine. It is not compatible with the standard 1.8L 2ZR-FE found in the Toyota Corolla.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your hybrid system's efficiency, professional installers recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake Manifold & EGR System: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Valve/Cooler. JDM versions may have different vacuum configurations. Pro Tip: Clean your original EGR cooler thoroughly before installing it on the new engine to prevent future head gasket issues.

2. Exhaust Manifold: Transfer your original USDM Exhaust Manifold. This ensures the oxygen sensors and catalytic converter interface remain factory-spec for US emissions.

3. Engine Sensors: Swap your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors to the JDM block to ensure perfect communication with your North American ECU.

4. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Hybrid Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are built for right-hand drive and will not reach the inverter or fuse box.

5. Water Pump: The 2ZR-FXE uses an Electric Water Pump. Inspect the JDM unit; if it shows any signs of wear, swap your USDM unit or install a new OEM pump during the swap.

6. Flywheel/Damper: Ensure you use the hybrid Transaxle Damper (Flywheel) that is currently on your vehicle to ensure a smooth transition between gas and electric power.
