CD009 6-Speed Manual Transmission

• Design: Heavy-duty aluminum case, RWD longitudinal layout.

• Synchronizer Upgrades: Features triple-cone synchronizers on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears, and double-cone synchronizers on 4th gear. This addresses and eliminates the notorious gear-grind issues found in early CD001–CD008 gearboxes.

• Clutch Actuation: External slave cylinder / clutch fork design (Standard pull-type).

Vehicle Fitment Guide

This engine and transmission combination is a direct factory-spec replacement for the following Rear-Wheel Drive platforms equipped with the Rev-Up engine from the factory:

• Nissan 350Z: 2005 (35th Anniversary & Track Edition Manuals only), 2006 (All Manual Trims).

• Infiniti G35 Coupe: 2005 (Production date 11/04 or later), 2006, 2007 (Manual 6MT variants only).

• Infiniti G35 Sedan: 2005, 2006 (Manual 6MT variants only).

Important Compatibility Note: This package is specifically for DE-series engine bays. It will not bolt up to 2007+ 350Z or G37 models equipped with the VQ35HR or VQ37VHR engines, as those utilize a different block pattern and the JK40-series transmission with an internal concentric slave cylinder.

USDM to JDM Swap Guide (VQ35DE Rev-Up & CD009)

When importing a JDM powertrain to replace a USDM (United States Domestic Market) setup, the core engine and transmission internals are virtually identical, but a few external accessories must be handled correctly to ensure a plug-and-play installation.

1. Accessory & Harness Preparation

• Retain Your USDM Harness: Always use your original USDM engine wiring harness. JDM harnesses are routed for Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles and will not reach your LHD ECU/fuse box properly.

• Swap External Accessories: Transfer your original USDM alternator, starter, power steering pump, and A/C compressor to the JDM block. While JDM accessories sometimes work, USDM plugs and belt alignments are guaranteed to match your chassis.

• Exhaust Cam Sensors: Because this is the Rev-Up model, ensure your harness has the necessary plugs for the secondary exhaust camshaft position sensors.

2. Drivetrain Preparation

• Pilot Bushing Removal (Automatic Swaps): If you are converting an automatic chassis to this 6-speed manual, you must extract the automatic pilot bushing from the back of the engine crankshaft and tap in an OEM manual pilot bushing before mounting the clutch and flywheel.

• Clutch Assembly: The CD009 transmission uses a traditional clutch fork. Install your flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate, making sure to properly grease the pivot ball and release bearing.

• Fluid: Fill the CD009 with precisely 3 quarts of a high-quality GL-4 75W-90 manual transmission fluid. Do not use GL-5, as the sulfur additives will degrade the brass synchronizers over time.

3. Installation & Startup

• Drop-In: Mate the engine and transmission together outside the car. Dropping them into the subframe as a single, assembled unit is highly recommended for the 350Z/G35 chassis.

• ECU: If your car was already a factory Rev-Up manual, your stock ECU will run this JDM engine perfectly without tuning.

• Pre-Lube: Before the first start, remove the fuel pump fuse and crank the engine over a few times to build oil pressure and prime the system.
