This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:

• Toyota Camry Hybrid (LE, XLE, SE): 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

• Compatibility Note: This is the Atkinson Cycle engine. It is NOT compatible with non-hybrid 2.5L Camry models (which use the 2AR-FE). Ensure your vehicle is a Hybrid model before ordering.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Camry’s hybrid system synchronization and emissions status, professional technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifold. JDM versions may have different vacuum port layouts and often lack specific emissions sensors required for North American OBDII compliance.

2. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your Camry’s chassis or the Hybrid Control Unit.

3. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Toyota hybrid electronics are highly sensitive; using your original "known-good" sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or hybrid system fault codes.

4. Coolant Components: Transfer your original USDM electric water pump and thermostat housing to ensure the connectors match your factory harness exactly.

5. Hybrid Dampener Plate: Retain and use your original USDM Hybrid Dampener Plate (flywheel equivalent) to ensure perfect alignment with the P314 planetary gear transmission.

6. Direct Injection/Fueling: If applicable, transfer your original USDM fuel rail and injectors to ensure perfect ECU fuel trim synchronization.
