This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:

• Lexus NX300h: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

• Compatibility Note: This is the Atkinson Cycle engine. It is NOT compatible with non-hybrid Lexus NX200t or NX300 models (which use the 8AR-FTS turbo engine). Ensure your vehicle is an NX300h Hybrid before ordering.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Lexus’s sophisticated hybrid synchronization and emissions status, professional technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifold. JDM versions may have different vacuum port layouts and often lack specific emissions sensors required for North American OBDII compliance.

2. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your NX’s chassis bulkheads or the Hybrid Control Unit.

3. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Lexus hybrid electronics are highly sensitive; using your original "known-good" sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or hybrid system fault codes.

4. Coolant Components: Transfer your original USDM electric water pump and thermostat housing to ensure the connectors match your factory harness and cooling system layout perfectly.

5. Hybrid Dampener Plate: Retain and use your original USDM Hybrid Dampener Plate (flywheel equivalent) to ensure perfect alignment with the eCVT transmission assembly.

6. Accessories: Utilize your original USDM A/C compressor and brackets to ensure perfect belt alignment and fitment within the NX300h engine bay.
