Vehicle Fitment

This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:

• Infiniti G37 (Journey, Sport, Convertible): 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013

• Compatibility Note: This is the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) / All-Wheel Drive (AWD) longitudinal configuration. While the long block is the same, AWD models must transfer their original oil pan to accommodate the front axle pass-through.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and a "first-turn" start using your original Infiniti ECU, professional technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Plenum and Exhaust Manifolds. JDM versions may have different vacuum port layouts or lack specific emissions bungs required for North American OBDII compliance.

2. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your G37’s chassis bulkheads or IPDM.

3. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Nissan/Infiniti electronics are highly sensitive; using your original "known-good" sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or Check Engine Light codes.

4. Oil Pan (AWD Models): If your G37 is an AWD (x) model, you must transfer your original USDM oil pan and pickup tube to the JDM engine to allow for front-drive axle clearance.

5. Flywheel / Flexplate: Ensure you use the USDM Flywheel (Manual) or Flexplate (Automatic) to ensure proper starter engagement and crank sensor signaling.

6. VVEL Modules: Retain your original VVEL control modules if they are known to be in good working condition to ensure perfect synchronization with your factory ECU mapping.
