JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your 370Z's aggressive performance mapping, professional Nissan technicians recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifolds. JDM versions may differ in vacuum port layouts and often lack specific emissions bungs required for North American OBDII compliance.

2. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your Z's chassis bulkheads or ECU location.

3. Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Nissan electronics are highly sensitive; using your original "known-good" sensors prevent intermittent signal issues or Check Engine Light codes.

4. Flywheel / Flexplate: Transfer your original USDM Flywheel (Manual) or Flexplate (Automatic). This is critical for maintaining the correct balance and ensuring the crank sensor reads the trigger wheel timing correctly.

5. VVEL Control Modules: Retain and use your original VVEL control modules to ensure perfect synchronization with your factory ECU.
