JDM to USDM Installation & Technical Guide

To maintain the precise shifting and OBDII compliance of your Lexus GS, professional technicians recommend these critical steps:

• Internal Harness & Solenoids: You must transfer your original USDM Transmission Internal Wire Harness and Solenoids to the JDM unit. JDM electrical connectors on Aristo/Celsior units can vary in pin configuration. Reusing your original USDM electronics ensures the ECU receives the correct data and prevents "Check Engine" lights or shift codes.

• Output Flange / Tailshaft: Check your driveshaft connection. Depending on whether the donor vehicle was a GS, LS, or SC, the rear output flange may vary. You may need to swap your original USDM tailshaft flange onto the JDM transmission for a guaranteed fit to your driveshaft.

• Neutral Safety Switch: Transfer your original USDM Neutral Safety Switch (Range Sensor). This ensures your dashboard gear indicator and the "Park/Neutral" starting circuit function perfectly.

• Fluid Requirements: Use only high-quality Toyota ATF Type T-IV. The A650E is calibrated for the specific friction modifiers in T-IV; using newer WS fluid or generic ATF can cause harsh shifting or accelerated wear.

• Cooler Line Flush: It is mandatory to flush the transmission cooler lines and radiator. Any debris from your previous transmission failure will damage the "new" JDM unit if not properly cleared.
