Vehicle Fitment

This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:

• Subaru Impreza (non-turbo): 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

• Trims: 2.5i, Outback Sport, Premium

• Compatibility Note: This engine is for SOHC AVCS models. Please verify your original engine has the AVCS solenoids on the cylinder heads before ordering. Not compatible with WRX or STI (Turbo) models.

• The i-Active Distinction: Between 2006 and 2011, Subaru used the i-Active valve lift system. Buyers specifically search for this to ensure they don't buy the older 2005-down version which lacks the wiring for the pressure switches on the heads.

• Chassis Specifics: This engine fits both the GD/GG (2006-07) and the GE/GH/GR/GV (2008-11) Impreza generations.

JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and a "Plug-and-Play" installation into your USDM Impreza, professional installers recommend the following "External Swap" steps:

1. Intake Manifold & Sensors: You must swap your original USDM Intake, Exhaust Manifold, PCV Valve and all sensors (MAP, TPS, etc.) onto the JDM block. JDM wiring plugs often differ from US-spec harnesses.

2. AVCS Solenoids: Ensure the JDM AVCS solenoids match your USDM plugs; if they differ, transfer your original USDM solenoids to the JDM heads.

3. Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your vehicle's original USDM Engine Wiring Harness.

4. Cooling System: Inspect the water crossover pipe and thermostat housing. If the angles differ, swap your USDM components to ensure your radiator hoses fit correctly.
