This transmission serves as a direct replacement for the following North American models:

• Scion xB: 2004, 2005, 2006

• Scion xA: 2004–2006

• Compatibility Note: Specifically for the 1.5L 1NZ-FE. It is not compatible with the 2.4L engine found in the 2008+ (2nd Gen) Scion xB.

JDM to USDM Installation & Technical Guide

To ensure 100% OBDII compliance and a seamless "plug-and-play" swap, professional technicians recommend these steps:

• Sensor & Harness Transfer: You must transfer your original USDM Transmission Wiring Harness and Sensors (including the Input/Output Speed Sensors) to the JDM unit. JDM electrical plugs can sometimes vary in shape or pin-count; using your original electronics ensures the ECU communicates perfectly and prevents "Check Engine" lights.

• Neutral Safety Switch: Reuse your original USDM Neutral Safety Switch (Range Sensor). This ensures your dashboard gear indicator and starting circuit function exactly as they did before.

• Oil Cooler Flush: It is mandatory to flush your radiator’s transmission cooler lines. Debris from a failed transmission can hide in the lines and will destroy your new JDM unit if not properly cleared out.

• Fluid Requirements: Use only high-quality Toyota ATF Type T-IV (or the equivalent specified on your dipstick). These U340E transmissions are sensitive to fluid quality; avoid generic "multi-vehicle" fluids for the best longevity.
