This transmission serves as a direct replacement for the following North American models:

• Toyota Tacoma 4WD (2.7L 4-Cyl): 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021

• Compatibility Note: Specifically for the 2.7L 4-Cylinder 4WD. It will not fit the 3.5L V6 models (which use the AC60E/AC62F) or 2WD models due to the different output shaft and transfer case configuration.

JDM to USDM Installation & Technical Guide

To ensure 100% OBDII compliance and seamless integration with your Tacoma’s sophisticated electronic control system, professional technicians recommend these steps:

• Sensor & Harness Swap: You must transfer your original USDM Transmission Wiring Harness and Sensors to the JDM unit. This ensures the Tacoma's ECU recognizes the shift solenoids and speed sensors perfectly, preventing "Check Engine" lights or shift timing issues.

• Neutral Safety Switch: Reuse your original USDM Neutral Safety Switch (Range Sensor). This ensures your dashboard gear indicator and starting circuit function exactly as they did before.

• Transfer Case: While JDM units often include the transfer case, always verify the output flange patterns match your USDM driveshafts. Many installers prefer to bolt their original USDM Transfer Case onto the JDM transmission for a guaranteed fit.

• Fluid Requirements: This transmission requires high-quality Toyota ATF World Standard (WS) fluid. It is mandatory to flush your transmission cooler lines and radiator. Modern 6-speed transmissions are highly sensitive to debris; any contamination from a previous failure can ruin the JDM replacement.

• ECU Reset: After installation, a Transmission Adaptive Memory Reset via a professional scan tool is highly recommended. This allows the ECU to "learn" the fresh clutch pack tolerances of the JDM unit for optimal shift quality.
